Our Board and Train program is the most time-efficient, effective, and convenient way to address your dog’s obedience and behavioral needs. This intensive training option is specifically designed to tackle everything from foundational obedience for puppies to mild and severe behavior challenges in adult dogs.

Your dog will stay with Whittier Dog Club for 4 or 6 weeks, depending on the program that best suits their needs. During this time, they’ll receive daily, hands-on training sessions focused on reinforcing obedience, addressing behavioral concerns, and building positive habits. Alongside structured training, your dog will also benefit from consistent conditioning, controlled socialization, and a nurturing environment tailored to accelerate their progress.

To ensure a smooth transition and lasting results, we include private sessions for you and your dog both during and after the program. Midway through the training, you’ll have a session to stay informed about your dog’s progress and to begin learning how to implement the techniques at home. At the end of the program, and after your dog returns home, additional private sessions will provide the tools and confidence needed to maintain their training success in real-life situations.

We also provide comprehensive at-home training guidelines, serving as a valuable reference to help you reinforce the skills your dog has learned. With our Board and Train program, we aim to set your dog up for long-term success, creating a happier, more harmonious life for both you and your furry companion.

Our Group Training Classes are designed to help dog owners build real-world obedience, confidence, and engagement in a structured, controlled environment alongside other dedicated handlers.

Whether you’re looking to sharpen your dog’s obedience skills or explore advanced working disciplines, our group sessions provide the guidance, accountability, and distractions needed to create reliable results.

Training in a group setting builds reliability by introducing controlled distractions, helping dogs and owners develop confidence and composure in real-life situations.

We also offer Detection Group Classes for owners interested in developing their dogs' scent-work skills.

These classes are designed for two types of handlers: owners looking to learn a new activity and strengthen their bond with their dog, and serious working-dog teams pursuing detection certification or advanced scent work titles. Detection training channels your dog’s natural drives into focused, productive work while building problem-solving ability, independence, and handler communication.

Our DayTrain Program is designed for dogs and owners who want professional guidance, structure, and consistency — without a board and train.

This program is ideal for dogs who do not have extreme behavioral issues, but need help developing reliable obedience and real-world manners to successfully navigate everyday life.

Your dog will train with our trainers, and you’ll receive the education and coaching needed through milestone lessons to help you maintain and reinforce those skills at home — creating a balanced, hands-on training experience.

Our private lessons are designed specifically for you and your dog, offering a personalized and hands-on training experience that meets your unique needs. Our Personal Protection Training program is designed to provide your dog with the skills and confidence needed to protect you and your loved ones while maintaining their loyalty, obedience, and stability as a family companion. This specialized training focuses on cultivating a well-balanced dog capable of identifying and responding appropriately to real-world threats.

Your dog will work with our team of highly experienced trainers and professional decoys, who specialize in personal protection and behavior development. Using proven methods, we ensure your dog is not only reliable in protection scenarios but also well-mannered in everyday life.

Throughout the program, your dog will engage in structured training sessions that build critical skills, including alertness, controlled aggression, defensive behavior, and obedience under high-pressure situations. We tailor the program to each dog’s temperament, age, and goals to create a personalized training plan that maximizes their potential.

Safety and precision are our top priorities. We ensure that your dog remains stable and confident, capable of discerning between real threats and non-threatening situations. You’ll also participate in private sessions where you’ll learn how to handle and communicate effectively with your dog, reinforcing their training and creating a strong, trusting bond.
